Don Metzler-Smith is a strong advocate and stalwart for ALL Hoosier children and their families, upholding public education as the future building block for Elkhart County and Indiana. Holding Indiana Certification in Secondary Social Studies, he believes that our nation instituted public schools to further our democratic republic by educating all, not just the privileged class attending religious institutions. "Our forbearers knew that a democracy was dependent on an informed populace that could select our leaders intelligently. It is the recipe for survival of our republic!"
